Proteomic Analysis in the Lung and Brain of Rats Following Silver Nanoparticle Inhalation
Silver nanoparticles (AgNP) are widely used in industrial, household and diagnostic products, as well as antimicrobial applications. The high production volumes of AgNP lead to a potential risk for occupational and environmental exposure. This works investigates the potential toxic effects associated with AgNP exposure in both the lung and brain. Using histology guided mass spectrometry we showed significant proteomic changes in tissues at multiple time points post exposure.
